On Kindness Day on 24th May, our staff gave out "Thank You" cards and yellow gerberas to their peers to show their appreciation to one another. The office was filled with excitement as each person went up to their teammates to pass flowers to them, expressing their gratitude for the teamwork.
Our Senior HR Director, Ms Grace Yang, went to every single staff in the office to pass them a “Thank You” note. Every staff’s contribution to the company was being appreciated by the management. The atmosphere in the office was lively, filled with smiles on the faces of our staff.
Kindness does not stop on Kindness Day, so do join us in showing your appreciation to your colleagues as well as people around you, no matter what day of the week.
On Labour Day this year, we decided to show our appreciation for the hard work of the Bus Captains, whose services help to bring our staff and members of the public to our venue. Working with our Chef and his team, we prepared a total of 400 boxes of cookies to be distributed to the Bus Captains that drive past our bus stops.
Our CEO Mr Arun Madhok, and our Senior HR Director, Ms Grace Yang, came down immediately after the May Day Rally to join us in the distribution. We had energetic staff volunteers who took their personal time off from their public holiday to help in the distribution too. They cheered and held signs to say thank you to the Bus Captains for their hard work!
It was a fulfilling activity, and the staff were contented to see the smiles on the bus captains, as we surprised them with a small token of gratitude. Do join us in showing appreciation for the bus captains and wish them a Happy Labour Day when you board their buses!
For a second time this year, Suntec Singapore visited the elderly residents at SilverACE Bukit Merah, a senior activity centre for vulnerable elderly in lower-income neighbourhoods. Earlier this year, we dropped by just before Chinese New Year, to have a pre-Chinese New Year celebration with the residents.
Our Human Resources Executive, Mr James Chua, coordinated all of the activities to make this event a success. He conceptualised the games and activities, and even sourced out for sponsors to gift some items to the residents. One of our staff members, Ms Joycelin Pang also sponsored some reading glasses for the elderly residents.
The elderly residents were engaged in fun-filled activities such as crafts and games, facilitated by our staff volunteers. They were also treated to delectable dishes served by Executive Chef Alfred Lee and his team.
It was a whole-day affair and our staff volunteers were delighted and heartened to see the smiles on the faces of the elderly residents. Suntec Singapore is committed to visiting the elderly residents once every quarter to brighten their stay at the senior activity centre.
It was a night to remember, as the students of Nanyang Polytechnic’s (NYP) School of Interactive and Digital Media's (SIDM), had their graduation showcase. Among those mingling in the crowd were invited industry guests, NYP alumni and parents of the graduating students.
The booths were filled with interesting and interactive exhibits, as the students presented their work to industry guests, in hopes of scoring a job upon graduation. Walking down the aisle, the booths were a visual spectacle, filled with graphics and 3D cutouts of the students’ work.
Suntec Singapore was the venue sponsor this year, in support of our local talents. This year, our CEO Mr Arun Madhok was invited as the Guest of Honour to address the graduating class of 2019.
“I see talent which has been taken and moulded, and put together to create to exceptional skills, that can be used in a growing industry”, said Mr Madhok on the extraordinary exhibits put up by the students.
Join us in congratulating NYP SIDM class of 2019!
Health Screening 2019
To foster a culture of wellness, Suntec Singapore organises annual health screenings and regular wellness activities for our employees. On 12th March, our employees attended an on-site health screening that was arranged for them.
Having the health screening onsite, our employees have the ease of access to it and can get themselves checked during their working hours. Many employees generally find it challenging to schedule health screenings amidst their busy lifestyle. By bringing the health screening to the workplace, we hope that more will be encouraged to get themselves checked.
The health screening is holistic, with many different stations examining different components of the health. Our employees were treated to a buffet breakfast after the screening, as they had to fast the night before having their blood tests.
Suntec Singapore is committed to investing in the health of our employees, and we encourage them to adopt healthy lifestyles. The health screening will return again next year to ensure the well being of our employees.
